Main Duties

-Responsible to the Security Supervisor for ensuring a full range of protective and air transport security measures are provided in accordance with MAA(Military Aviation Authority) and CAA( Civil Aviation Authority) regulations.

-Providing air transport and general security services, including responding to alarms, carrying out mandatory checks, maintaining security documentation and the issuing of Airside and Ascension Island Identification cards.

-Ensuring the safeguarding of passengers, ground crew and the general public from unlawful interference with arriving and departing aircraft.

-Carry out pre-flight security screening of departing passengers and aircrew.

-Conduct screening of cabin and hold baggage using various x-ray equipment.

-Prevent unlawful entry to aircraft and unauthorised carriage of prohibited items and dangerous air cargo, by the means of manual searching techniques and with the aid of security screening equipment.

-Prevent breaches of aviation security and safety in the SRA (Security Restricted Area)

-To carry out routine security patrols and checks of airfield facilities and assets on a daily basis, including weekends and bank holidays.

-Respond to station recalls alarms and major incidents. Work on an on call basis providing fist line contact for emergency duties.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Position Summary:

Reporting to the Global Trade Compliance Director, Primary role is to ensure compliance with policies and procedures for supply chain security and trade as related to imports and exports worldwide. Role is to function as support point of contact for Customs and Trade Partnership Against Terrorism (CTPAT) and CTPAT profiles and will communicate directly with the US Customs and Border Protection (CBP) Supply Chain Security Specialists (SCSS). Responsible primarily for Supply Chain Security audits and also contributing on Trade Compliance audits mainly for locations in the US, Mexico, and Canada. Also responsible for documentation required by CTPAT, supply chain security training materials and standardized formats are a corporate level. Direct liaison and support for OEA (Mexico’s Authorized Economic Operator program).

Major responsibilities include:

• Conduct recurrent audits pertaining to Supply Chain Security, not restricted to but including CTPAT audits
• OEA MX Support
• Work collaboration with audited locations for actionable items resulting from audits
• Procedure and policy ownership

At our site in Kempston, we build and test this equipment before it is shipped off to its final destination. Our Supply Chain and Warehouse Operations play a vital role in supporting production processes and ensuring domestic and international shipments meet our customers’ expectations.

Reporting to the Chief Research Compliance Officer, you will lead designated compliance efforts across Cornell and serve as a university authorized representative with governmental agencies. In your oversight capacity, you will maintain and continuously improve a robust, integrated, and effective compliance program; partner with Cornell and government stakeholders to identify and address potential problems; and provide strategic oversight to staff and faculty with related responsibilities within their departments. You will bring to the role a thorough understanding of related laws and regulations, such as the International Traffic in Arms Regulations and Export Administration Regulations, and proven skills in risk-based analysis, decision-making, communications, and team leadership.

Responsibilities will include:

• Managing and further developing the export compliance program and ensuring appropriate risk protection.

• Working closely with researchers, staff, and internal and external stakeholders to assess and address existing and potential export control and compliance issues.

• Serving as administrator for export control software programs; as university authorized representative for U.S. Department of Commerce, Bureau of Industry and Security’s SNAP-R system, and primary contact for export control questions and audits; and as the University’s Empowered Official for the Department of State.

• Developing policies and procedures and providing necessary direction and guidance to the university community.

• Developing and providing training and other resources to campus.

• Preparing, monitoring, and auditing Technology Control Plans; drafting, signing, and submitting License applications; and serving as primary liaison between custom’s broker and Cornell University.

• Working with Government Relations, University Compliance, and the Office of Vice Provost for International Affairs to ensure cross-functional compliance issues are addressed and regulatory issues are responded to.

Additionally, we would like to see evidence of:

• JD or other advanced degree.

• Substantial experience in export control or research security.

• Experience managing medical and clinical research compliance.

• Experience with compliance in a research intensive, highly decentralized higher education organization.

At our site in Kempston, we build and test this equipment before it is shipped off to its final destination. Our Supply Chain and Warehouse Operations play a vital role in supporting production processes and ensuring domestic and international shipments meet our customers’ expectations.

The role

You’re a problem solver, able to identify potential issues which might affect the delivery of a project. You ideally have a background in manufacturing but we are open to applications from industry backgrounds such as retail or logistics.

• Exposure to network security which includes network segmentation, DDoS, Network Devices Security Baselining and monitoring, firewall rules review for any deviation.

• Application Security – integration of security tooling with CI/CD pipeline, review of security reports and follow-up to get them closed, DAST, SAST, Web Services Security, Security Focused Testing, Security Code Review etc.

• Identify risk with authentication and authorization protocols, mitigate risks with legacy authentication, design conditional access policy

• Management of foundational security tooling e.g. tools like Defender, EDR, Vuln Mgmt, CMDB agent.

• Perform Defensive / Offensive assessment on IT environment/applications to simulate attacks from real threat actors.

• Perform attack pattern analysis based on MITRE Attack framework, support solution development to address the pattern
