There is a opening for a Transport and Logistics Manager, preferably someone with experience in logistics management in the chemical or manufacturing industry.
This job holder will oversee the transportation, distribution, and storage of chemical products. The Transport and Logistics Manager will play a critical role in ensuring the efficient and timely delivery of goods while maintaining the highest standards of safety and compliance.

Requirements
· Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field.
· Minimum of 5 years of experience in logistics management, preferably in the chemical or manufacturing industry.
· Proven track record of successfully managing transportation, warehousing, and inventory control operations.
· Strong understanding of transportation regulations and safety requirements for handling hazardous materials.
· Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
· Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with internal teams, external partners, and regulatory agencies.
· Proficiency in logistics software and systems, including inventory management and transportation management systems (TMS).
· Certification in logistics or supply chain management (e.g., Certified Supply Chain Professional, Certified Logistics Professional) is a plus.
The Role
1. Transportation Management:
· Coordinate and schedule transportation of chemical products to customers and suppliers.
· Oversee the selection and management of third-party carriers and freight forwarders.
· Negotiate freight rates and terms to optimize transportation costs.
· Monitor transportation activities to ensure on-time delivery and resolve any issues or delays.
2. Inventory Control:
· Maintain accurate inventory records of raw materials, finished goods, and packaging materials.
· Implement inventory control procedures to minimize stock discrepancies and ensure adequate supply levels.
· Conduct regular inventory audits and reconcile discrepancies as necessary.
· Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials.
3. Warehousing and Distribution:
· Manage warehouse operations, including receiving, storage, and shipping of chemical products.
· Optimize warehouse layout and storage practices to maximize space utilization and efficiency.
· Implement safety protocols and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements for handling hazardous materials.
· Supervise warehouse staff and provide training as needed.
4. Compliance and Safety:
· Ensure compliance with all applicable regulations governing the transportation, storage, and handling of chemical products.
· Develop and implement safety procedures to minimize risks associated with chemical handling and transportation.
· Conduct regular safety inspections and audits to identify and address potential hazards.
· Coordinate with regulatory agencies and participate in audits and inspections as required.
5. Performance Metrics and Reporting:
· Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the efficiency and effectiveness of logistics operations.
· Monitor KPIs and implement corrective actions to improve performance and productivity.
· Prepare regular reports on logistics activities, including transportation costs, inventory levels, and on-time delivery performance.
