Your new role
• Support and train staff in internal procurement procedures.
• Take the lead on allocated EU, public sector framework and mini-competition procurements undertaken by the organisation.
• Assist in the production of procurement strategies for the major items of spend.
• To ensure that the commercial aspects of a procurement are handled in such a way as to derive a most economically advantageous outcome, by assisting the Purchaser in this process.
• To lead on expertise in developing contract notices and contract award notices for submission to the Find a tender service.
• To track legislation and monitor and act upon developments in procurement legislation and good practice and to advise Colleagues on changes that should be made to its procurement processes.


What you'll need to succeed
• Significant commercial experience with a track record of skilled negotiation.
• A relevant Business or Procurement qualification or working towards CIPS.
• Experience of developing procurement strategies for complex procurement projects
• An excellent working knowledge of the EU procurement directives.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills – with the capability to communicate concisely and effectively equally well with technical and non-technical colleagues.

VWFS|FLEET is dedicated to the delivery of a comprehensive range of products and services, specialising in the growth and development of our contract hire portfolio to the Corporate and fleet customer. The role of the Purchasing Advisor will work within the fleet department to order and deliver new vehicles whilst building customer and supplier relationships. The role is vital in the delivery of service excellence to the VWFS|FLEET customer portfolio, and contributing to the growth and development of the department.

Responsibilities:

• Communication with VWFS|FLEET Customers and Vehicle Suppliers to identify vehicle requirements
• Liaising with nominated dealers/obtaining quotations and issuing vehicle purchase orders via Ebbon Dacs
• Progressing vehicle orders weekly, keeping systems and customers updated
• Liaison between dealer and customer to arrange new vehicle delivery
• Payment of supplier vehicle invoices
• Ensuring customer expectations are managed at all times
• Responsible for a wide range of administrative duties and inter departmental activities
• Reporting weekly using our Purchasing systems and internal SLA's

About you

• A good knowledge of VW Group Brand product and other manufacturers
• GCSE Maths and English at level C or above
• Ability to communicate effectively both in writing and verbally at all levels
• Attention to detail with a high degree of accuracy and ability to work under pressure
• Knowledge and understanding of Fleet leasing solutions
• A team player with the ability to work under pressure in order to meet strict deadlines
• Confident and customer-focused in communicating both by telephone and face to face.
• High level of Customer service experience and ability to demonstrate use of initiative in order to aid departmental productivity.
