ICF is seeking highly qualified candidates to serve as Training Specialists to work on a national technical assistance project. The purpose of this project is to provide legal services for Unaccompanied Children post-release from Office of Refugee Resettlement (ORR) care and custody and to expand the legal community’s skills and capacity to provide immigration legal support. Training Specialists are responsible for creating ongoing training opportunities for project legal staff. This includes supporting the development of products and tools to support all facets of the legal work.
Key Responsibilities
Supporting the development and implementation of an annual training plan.
Develop and deliver live webinars that also will be recorded and made available to staff on-demand.
Develop e-learning modules and other products as determined necessary.
Support the development and maintenance of an internal resources-sharing platform to house all recorded webinars, e-learning modules, and communication materials, which will track staff completion of required trainings.
Support the identification of ongoing training needs of staff and design, develop, and implement appropriate learning tools to meet those needs.
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology, behavioral health; public health or other human services field.
Understanding of migrant/refugee issues, particularly related to UC and sponsor families and legal needs related to immigration status.
3+ years of training experience.
U.S. Citizenship required (required by federal government for position).
Preferred Skills
Experience in training and training content development.
Education and/or experience in the application of race equity, diversity, and inclusion of social justice strategies in human service settings.
Working knowledge of the refugee, immigrant, and asylee challenges.
Experience working for a refugee program.
Proficient with MS office applications (i.e. Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
Experience with training, curriculum development, and facilitation.

Working with the Assistant Director, Education and Inclusion Service Manager and other Area Leads -this role will allow the opportunity to determine the strategic direction for the service. This strategic work will sit alongside the management of the South West STIP team as well as some personal direct work as a STIP teacher. The role supports schools in Guildford and Waverley boroughs and as part of a countywide service, you will attend meetings across Surrey.
Within your role as a direct STIP Teacher linked to a school, you will have the opportunity to support the development of a school's capacity to meet the needs of pupils with additional needs through systemic work, delivering quality training, supporting the SEN department, modelling group work or following a consultation model around a pupil with complex needs. Each new location gives you an opportunity to build effective working relationships which help schools to "narrow the gap".
