We are seeking a highly experienced senior level Construction Director to support our client in the construction of a state-of-the-art stadium. The Senior Construction Director will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the construction process, from initial planning and design to final completion, ensuring the successful delivery of the project within scope, budget, and schedule. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of managing large-scale construction projects, exceptional leadership skills, and a deep understanding of stadium construction and sports facility development.
What You'll Be Doing:
Provide strategic leadership and direction for the construction of the state-of-the-art stadium project, ensuring alignment with project goals, objectives, and specifications.
Lead and manage the construction team, including project managers, engineers, architects, contractors, and subcontractors, to ensure effective coordination and collaboration throughout all phases of the project.
Oversee the development and implementation of the construction plan, schedule, and budget, and monitor progress against key milestones and deliverables to ensure timely completion of the project.
Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including project sponsors, owners, and senior management, to define project requirements, priorities, and success criteria, and provide regular updates and reports on project status and performance.
Manage the selection and negotiation of contracts with construction firms, vendors, and suppliers, and oversee contract administration, compliance, and quality assurance to ensure adherence to project specifications and standards.
Develop and implement safety protocols, quality control measures, and risk management strategies to ensure a safe working environment, minimize project risks, and maintain high standards of construction quality.
Lead in implementing departmental procedures to ensure operations progress as planned.
Overseeing the entire project lifecycle. The role involves planning, executing, and closing of projects. Coordination of various stakeholders, manage budgets and timelines and ensure the successful implementation of design.
Lead drawing review activities, ensuring the engineering and the design is in conformance with the project specifications and client requirements, coordination with architects and/or design consultants.
Setting targets, objectives & responsibilities for all supervised staff.
Coordinate with regulatory agencies, building inspectors, and other relevant authorities to obtain necessary permits, approvals, and certifications, and ensure compliance with all applicable building codes, regulations, and standards.
Monitor and manage project finances, including budgeting, forecasting, and cost control, and identify opportunities for cost savings, value engineering, and efficiency improvements to maximize project profitability.
Lead and facilitate regular project meetings, workshops, and reviews with key stakeholders, and ensure effective communication, collaboration, and resolution of project-related issues and challenges.
Foster a culture of innovation, excellence, and continuous improvement within the construction team, and promote best practices, knowledge sharing, and professional development opportunities to enhance team performance and capabilities.
What Required Skills You'll Bring:
Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or related field
Minimum of 25 years of progressive experience in construction management, with at least 10 years in senior leadership roles overseeing large-scale construction projects, preferably in the sports or entertainment industry.
Proven track record of successfully delivering complex construction projects, including stadiums or sports facilities, on time, within budget, and to high quality standards.
Exceptional communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders at all levels.
In-depth knowledge of construction management principles, methodologies, and best practices, and familiarity with relevant building codes, regulations, and standards.
Experience in project management software and tools, and proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.

Your new role
Your new role will be working as Construction Client Service Director based within their London offices will be hybrid working 3 days in the office, (the rest from home) . You will be responsible for fully servicing a book of Construction clients, as well as try to encourage growth plans for your allocated client portfolio by cross selling new and renewal business. Dealing with your clients from inception to completion alongside Account Executives and Account Handlers. Your new role will also include developing and enhancing relationships with key insurers and underwriters and work closely with the other divisions in forging long-term relationships with existing and new clients. This role will also include advising on existing products. This is an all-encompassing Client Director role which is very client centric and will require your Technical and Account management experience to work as part of an established Construction team in looking after your allocated clients and helping to grow the business,
What you'll need to succeed
Your previous experience working as a Senior Construction Account Executive or Client Director with CAR experience will contribute to your success in securing this role. Experience of working to multiple priorities and working across a range of tasks Educated to Good standards ( i.e. A Level or equivalent) or enough experience in a previous role to demonstrate suitable skills and ideally minimum Cert CII qualified.
