5 South is a 30 bed Oncology unit located within Butterworth Hospital. This unit specializes in the care of those with oncology diagnoses and a surgical population of head and neck cancers. Running central lines, administering chemotherapy treatments, and providing oncology education to its patients. Longer stays for patients on this unit are common, giving the team at 5 South the chance to build relationships with the patient and their family. Although this is a specialized unit there is still much to learn due to the variety in patient conditions in addition to their cancer. Our Labor and Delivery is located a Butterworth hospital. We deliver the most babies of any hospital in Michigan with an average of 8,000 births a year. The unit consists of 28 private birthing suites, 11-bed triage, 3 OR suites, and 5 recovery bays. Our staff consist of RN, Anesthesia RNs, Nurse Techs, OB Techs and Unit Secretaries.

In the Labor and Delivery Unit, it is a procedural unit similar to a surgical environment and Nurse Techs help turn over the OR rooms with the RNs, help with stocking, clean up babies, and obtain baby vitals, help position patients, transport patients to postpartum floor, help cover the Unit Secretary duties when necessary to cover a break/shift. May sometimes be floated to other floors with similar training & scope of work.

6 Meijer Heart Center (6 Heart) is a 46-bed cardiac and vascular progressive/stepdown unit at the Meijer Heart Center. The primary patient population served include patients with various cardiac and vascular diseases requiring medical, procedural, or surgical interventions. This includes acute coronary syndrome, acute myocardial infarction, post-percutaneous coronary intervention, peripheral artery disease, renal artery disease, aortic aneurysm, carotid artery disease and heart rhythm disorders.

From the moment an emergency medical situation occurs, we are ready to help with the highest level of children’s medical care possible. Helen Devos Children’s Hospital is a Level I trauma center. While we treat minor illnesses and injuries, we are also prepared with a pediatric trauma care team that provides care for severe injuries. This is a benefit-eligible position, plus:
$15/HR Starting Pay + $1/HR Premium Pay + $2/HR Premium Pay
Pay premium is temporary until 12.31.2023 at which time it will be re-evaluated.
$1000 Sign On Bonus:

Job Summary
Cleans and disinfects assigned work area according to department procedures. Removes medical waste, trash and linens. Performs the interim and restorative maintenance of the health system's hard floor, carpets and upholstery according to procedures. Fully functioning in one area of responsibility.
Essential Functions
Responsible for the cleaning, disinfecting and stocking of patient rooms, offices and ancillary areas according to established procedures. Responsible for the removal and disposal of linens and waste streams.
Performs interim and restorative maintenance to hard floor, carpets and upholstery according to procedures.
Assembles, maintains and stores equipment/supplies that are necessary to complete tasks according to department standards.
Communicates and collaborates with other members of the team to ensure continuity and coordination of services. Reports general maintenance and specialized cleaning requirements in work area.
Assists visitors and employees in navigating through the hospital to reach their destination.
Fully functioning within one cleaning area.
May be expected to work across department sites for coverage and business need.
Qualifications
Preferred High School Diploma or equivalent
Preferred public service and or customer service experience in a hotel, hospital, environmental services, or janitorial experience

They Care for mainly the General Medical Patient Population, which could be patients with a wide variety of diagnoses, pneumonia, cellulitis, kidney failure, hyperglycemia, Diabetic Issues, Ulcers, Confused Elderly, Alcohol Abuse, Acute/Chronic Kidney Injury, Sepsis, Psychiatric Population.

Scope of work
Nurse Tech responsibilities include taking vitals, checking blood sugars, bed baths, ambulating, wound care, catheterization and acting as a safety attendant for patients. Acts as a team member in the delivery of quality patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN) or Provider. Performs basic skills per department guidelines and communicates observations to members of the health care team. This job does not require CNA certification due to the extensive amount of orientation/on the job training provided.
Orientation:
The Nurse Tech role will require 2 days of training in our simulation center and 1 day of EPIC training with our Nurse Educators. These are pre-scheduled and required classes from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m

4 North is a 33-bed unit at Butterworth Hospital specializing in orthopedic, trauma and burn care. Our team works collaboratively with an interdisciplinary group of professionals including nursing, physicians, APPs, rehab therapists, and care managers to provide high quality, comprehensive care to our patients. Common diagnoses for our patient population include polytrauma, gunshot wounds, falls, motor vehicle accidents, burns, and orthopedic complications as a result of a traumatic injury.
