The newly graduate engineer will work on site packaging rationalization and sustainability projects

Primary Responsibilities:

HBF Mindelo sites manufactures over 700 SKU, that are sold in 40 countries. Overall spending in package materials is above 2,5M eur.  

Key deliverables include:

• Working closely with operations / sourcing and product management in identifying primary and secondary packaging rationalization opportunities.
• Cost saving / technical feasibility
• Map and incorporate into the ERP system information on primary and secondary packaging used for material shipping to comply with legal requirements of the different countries to where finish product is exported.

Minimum Requirements:  

• Degree or master’s in mechanical engineering or industrial management Engineering
• Good level of English, both verbal and written
• An additional language, such as German, would be a plus.
• Proactive, a team player, and good communication skills

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree  
• Mastery in English and comprehension  
• Four-year university students who are working in a technical internship role at hp during their study in university semesters. Flexible Schedule.  
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to apply the SCOR model to identify process gaps and propose solutions 
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Teams and Sharepoint 
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross- functional teams 
• Detail-oriented and organized, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines 
• Ability to work successfully in a volatile, uncertain, complex and ambiguous (VUCA) environment 

 

Preferred Knowledge and Skills 

• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft PowerBI, SQL and Access database a plus 
• Knowledge of programming languages such as Python or others a plus Strong knowledge of Microsoft 
• Knowledge of statistical analysis, and financial modeling 
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel with experience in creating Pivot tables, VLOOKUP, macros 
• Strong business acumen and technical knowledge within area of responsibility. 
• Knowledge with programming languages (Python, other) 
• Ability to work in virtual teams 
• Be an agent of Management of Change 
• Previous internships in a Supply Chain related function

Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Logistics, Industrial Distribution, General Business Management
